The Student's Uprising

I began construction of this piece during the end of encampments in Boston and finished it the day after Trump was elected. The shape of the collage resembles the mihrab of a prayer mat. The prominent colors used throughout belong to the Palestinian flag; white of anti-war, socialist newspapers and literature, red from a NO $ FOR WAR CRIMES poster (found during the first March on DC), green keffiyeh patterns, and the black of state cop uniforms. The base of the piece are the students and masses, with presidential candidate and speaker of the socialist movement, Cornell West, standing above the young, eager, righteous crowd.
